Vietnamese Ceramic Lime Pot – Bat Trang


Blue and white ceramic lime container decorated with stylized leaves, floral motifs and the Chinese Shou symbol for longevity. The fading underglaze blue is typical of wares from the Bat Trang kilns north of Hanoi. Limestone paste is used for betel chewing, an important element of traditional Vietnamese culture.
