Chinese Pottery Model of a Pond – Han Dynasty


From the middle Han to the Ming dynasty a rich record of miniature clay sculptures exists. They were placed in tombs for the afterlife and were often related to the deceased. This model of a pond displays several koi, a turtle, a duck and water lilies.
