China Wood Panel – Qing Dynasty PRICE UPON REQUEST
The hand carved wood panel depicts a Chinese phoenix, the bird of all birds, surrounded by foliage and peonies. The divine bird is a symbol of high virtue and grace promising a peaceful world, the peonies symbolize abundance, honour and nobility. The panel used to be part of a window or door and exposure to the elements have given the wood a beautiful patina.
