The mound like structure comprises three sections; a walled base terrace, a mid section with four levels that traditionally holds a relic of the Buddha or a highly respected monk, and a conical spire. The base of the stupa is decorated with four five-tiered parasols (chatra) indicating that the enshrined relic belonged to a crown prince or the court viceroy.
