Tibetan prayer shrines that are individually framed in contemporary open front shadow boxes (6″x6″x1.75″) that can be hung on a wall or placed standing up. Originally the prayer boxes were either placed in a home with other religious objects or worn as a portable shrine by men or women for festivals. Every prayer box houses a painted Buddhist clay figure (tsatsa).
