This early version of the traditional Chinese Pipa has only two strings (that are missing) and three frets on a narrow neck that has been carved in the shape of a dragon’s head. The pear shaped bodies are decorated on the front with carvings of a flute player and dragons, the backs have large carved seals in Chinese script. Mounted on contemporary metal stands.
