carved ornament used as a toggle to suspend articles from the sash of a man’s kimono. The netsuke depicts a Chinese scholar sitting on a garden rock holding a peach in his right hand (symbol for longevity). Well carved and inked in brown and black tones. Signed on the bottom: Rakushin.
