UNGLAZED MODEL OF A POND WITH ANIMALS

From the middle Han to the Ming period a rich record of miniature clay sculptures exist. These figures were placed in tombs for the afterlife and were often related to the deceased. This model of a pond houses several koi, a turtle, a duck and water lilies.
